Dynamic changes to survivin subcellular localization are initiated by DNA damage
Subcellular distribution of the apoptosis inhibitor survivin and its ability to relocalize as a result of cell cycle phase or therapeutic insult has led to the hypothesis that these subcellular pools may coincide with different survivin functions. The PIK kinases (ATM, ATR and DNA-PK) phosphorylate a variety of effector substrates that propagate DNA damage signals, resulting in various biologic...
متن کاملDynamic Particle Coupling for GPU-based Fluid Simulation
The main research approaches in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are grid-based (Euler) or based on particle motion (Lagrange). For interactive fluid simulation, techniques have been developed to use the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to speed up the computation using an Eulerian approach. This paper describes an approach for setting up a Lagrangian particle based fluid simulation on the GPU....

متن کاملElectron localization by a magnetic vortex
We study the problem of an electron in two dimensions in the presence of a magnetic vortex with a step-like profile. Dependending on the values of the effective mass and gyromagnetic factor of the electron, it may be trapped by the vortex. The bound state spectrum is obtained numerically, and some limiting cases are treated analytically.
متن کاملNanocomposite Fabrication Through Particle Surface Initiated Polymerization
Magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) have attracted much interest due to their special physicochemical properties such as enhanced magnetic moment and coercivity different from the bulk and atomic counterparts. Incorporation of the inorganic NPs into a polymer matrix has extended the particle applications such as in high-sensitivity chemical gas sensors due to the advantages of polymeric nanocomposites...
